the beginning...
to begin with: this will be my deployment blog. my intention is for anyone who wants to keep up with me during the course of this year to be able to check out what’s going on here so i don’t have to send out a hundred emails about basically the same stuff to a hundred different people. not that i don’t want to email everyone, i just don’t want to rewrite the same email over and over, and this way it stays up to date and no one has to hear the boring stuff... this just makes sense. so pass this along to anyone who might want to keep up and anyone who wants a personalized email, go ahead and email sp759@yahoo.com.
alright. here i am in germany... where i’ve been since i left. for the most part it sucked. we were doing this mission readiness exercise where they work on stressing us out with everything that could possibly go wrong to see how we react.
we had to deal with less than desirable leadership, but we still managed to make a really good magazine in my opinion. there’s a pdf here: http://www.kfor8.com/mag/GuardianMRXweb.pdf
i laid out the table of contents page and the red dragon page (which i’m really happy with). i also did a bunch of the short stories that we didn’t put titles on. it was fun and i’m really looking forward to doing it for the next year.
but now it’s over.
yesterday we went to munich. we were there too long, but it was fun. got to drink some really, really good german beer and picked up a cuban trinidad... which i’m really looking forward to cause i love trinidads, but i didn’t even know they made cuban ones.
it was a cool place that i’d like to visit again, but it was a little rainy and if i bought anything i wouldn’t have a place to put it. and i wasn’t really there to see the sights, i was just there for a day off post. but it really was good. and outside of the training environment, it was pretty fun.
today i just hung out here on base in civies. slept in a little bit, went up to main post to hang out at the px and get some burger king.
then i chatted with danica on gmail for a while and watched some movies with work guys then moeller and i found lonelygirl15 on youtube and followed that trail for a while until we found out that it was this really elaborate hoax... so that was fun. now i’m getting ready for bed.
